I just found these images hiding in my mom’s computer. I totally forgot that I uploaded them to her laptop (closest thing to me at the time). It was a nice surprise since I thought I had lost these pictures. They might not be my all time favorites, but they chronicle that crazy day. We decided to start our excursion at Cafe Magazine. My cousin and sister work at the magazine and we wanted to see the digs. It had this cute spiral staircase that lead up to the roof. (Reminded me of spiral staircase in my grandmother’s house in San Luis Potosi) I must say, it was really cool to see the skyline from the Chicago skyline from the roof top. I really wished we could have been there in the evening to see it at night, but we had to go back to West Chicago for the rehearsal.

I haven’t been on a subway since visiting San Francisco. I wish there was a subway in Nebraska. Then maybe I could bypass all of the traffic (don’t laugh, it gets congested…sometimes). Now THAT is a much warmer alternative than waiting for the bus, especially in the winter.

James had never visited Chicago until we went for Miguel and Elena’s wedding. And of course, we had to the Sears Tower and have a look from the observation deck (sky deck). I haven’t been up there in years and I forgot how awesome the view is.

We also went to “the bean” but I have no idea where those pictures went. I don’ t know how I have some but not all of the pictures from the trip. I also took some pictures of Chicago on our way back from our mini excursion. You know, in case we wandered the streets of Chicago and got lost and we had to find out way back using the pictures I took. Oh wait, that did happen…I need a GPS. Yes my friends, we were lost, no surprise there. We were so lost in fact, that after finding our way back to the magazine (where we parked the car) that we continued our trip towards Wisconsin. Who would have thought that the highways around Chicago are named the SAME THING. Soooo confusing, but I couldn’t say anything as I was not in charge of getting us back to the church. We called Carlos, Miguel’s brother, and he directed us back to were we needed to be. This would not have happened it I had a Garmin *hint, hint.*

This picture was taken just before sunset.

Oh, and for you ice cream lovers; this is the largest ice cream cone I have ever seen…enjoy!
